Melco manufactures conveyor idler frames and rollers according to international standards. These products are backed by Engineering and Conveyor System Research and Development to ensure that products continue to meet clients’ requirements.
Design and Engineering
ENGINEERING
Melco designs using solid model CAD systems such as “Inventor” and “Solid Edge”. When required for project execution, idler designs can be sent to project houses in all common formats such as Step File (.stp) ,Parasolid or AutoCad as required.
Melco can assist in the design and verification of conveyor idler frames and rollers in your application.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Melco has an internal Research and Development laboratory that assists with the following:
- Quality assurance and testing according to SANS 1313 parameters and specifications such as
- Bearing misalignment, roller breakaway, TIR, shaft axial float
- Failure analysis and investigation
- Testing and Verification designs Some of the available machines include:
Running friction testing machine, load running machine, Water ingress (rain simulation) machine In addition to the R&D facilities at Melco, there is an advanced testing laboratory at Rulmeca in Germany with the additional capability of noise testing.
