Materials transported on conveyors tend to adhere to the conveyor belt and return rollers resulting in “duff” build-up on the rollers causing belt tracking problems on the conveyor.
In order to minimise this build up, Melco rollers can be lagged in rubber or polyurethane to provide a surface to limit adherence to the roller.
Lagging is typically 6mm thick. Rubber grades can be standard or include FR (Fire Resistant) or FRAS (Fire Resistant Anti-Static) where operations require this.
As an alternative to lagged rollers, low friction Melco SUPREME HDPE rollers also limit build-up and rubber disc rollers have a self-cleaning effect on dirty belts.
